Flight Attendant Information

Flight Attendants?

I am looking for information on training for flight attendants like a certificate program in NYC. Does anyone have any info on what type of training would help to get hired as a flight attendant? Thanks so much.

  1. It is good to have waitress experience. After all a flight attendant is just a waitress in the sky.
  2. First, flight attendants are NOT waitresses in the sky. They have extensive training, and regular people will probably never see even a small portion of their training in their lifetime. Airlines prefer candidates with a collage degree or a degree in psychology. They will teach you about first aid, CPR, def liberation, how to survive on water, land and ice, what to do in a emergency, how to work the life rafts, teamwork, fires, etc... A good community service background will also help. It will probably be good to get a flight attendant interview book. It will teach you about the questions interviewers will be asking, what you should reply with, what to wear, and a background about training. And if you do get hired, don't be late for classes. If your even 1 minute late they won't hire you, and you won't be able to apply as a f/a for the airline till 6 months has passed. This is because they want to teach you airlines are on tight schedules. They don't what employees who are late for flights. Bering late will probably affect other flight times too. Good Luck!!!
