where can I find information on how to become a flight attendant?

I am 46 years old, and have an interest in a career as a flight attendant. Can you give me any kind of reference or information in this type of job?

  1. google search flight attendant training/school. or look at specific airlines websites (sometimes they will train you w/o school) be ready to relocate and travel! good luck!
  2. This site from the Bureau of Labor Statistics has much useful information about that career.
  3. One of the cable channels has been airing a show with Frontier Airlines flight attendant trainees. You can probably go to their website frontierairlines.com to get downloads of the series that has been airing for the past year. Most carriers are looking for mature second-career candidates, but you have to be fit to handle the safety requirments like door openings and evacuations. And it's a lot less glamrous than most people think. So I'd suggest you talk with several before you make that commitment. good luck!
  4. It would be helpful to know where you live. Are you in the US? For example, US Airways is having a recruitment session on Wednesday in Phoenix (day after tomorrow). I found this out just by going to their main reservations website and looking under careers. I'm a flight attendant -- email me privately if you want some specific questions answered.
  5. Take a look at http://www.airlinecareer.com/ There's some great information here. Good luck! - Stuart
  6. If you go to an airlines website. Click on something along the lines of employment opportunities and follow the steps from there. I have gone to Alaska Airlines site and was also interested in doing the same thing.
  7. It would help If I knew where you lived. In Canada, you can write any of the airlines, they will set up an interview with you
  8. here is a website that might help

  22. http://www.inflightcareers.com/
  23. I worked for a major airline for 31 years...it's a lot tougher than it sounds...good luck
  24. Contact the major airlines for an application. Each airline should have a website that can be found by doing a google search. This is a great job if you like to deal with people, travel, not be home for several days at the time, and NOT earn much money. This is from experience. I was a flight attendant. Loved every minute of it. Would probably still be flying if I had not married. Don't let anyone discourage you from trying something you are interested in doing. Age truly does not matter if you are physically fit.
  25. i think yahoo has a jobs section, try that.

  43. Contact the Airline you are interested in.

  45. Either at the airport Just take a plane and intern for a bit.
  46. Try checking omniairinternational.com a friend of mine works for them and she loves it.
  47. i think one of your best bets is to find a few websites of airlines that you'd like to work for, then look at the applications. in Canada, for example, you need to be fluent in french, there is a minimum height/lifting requirement, etc. Some applications are quite descriptive and will point you in the right direction.
  48. i used to work for an airline. it may not be necessary for you to attend any type of training school for flight attendant, depending on your previous experience and the airline. some airlines will hire first their own customer service agents for these positions, but if not enough they will hire from the street. check out websites for airlines and they will tell you if they are hiring at this time or if you can apply even if you are not. some type of customer service experience helps and so does a second language, and of course any travel experience or background. good luck.
  49. i know miami air international is hiring, you might want to check them out.
