Flight Attendant Information

How do I become a flight attendant?

I'm only 15 but my dream is to become a flight attendant! What classes should I take in high school to prepare me for it? And what major in college should I take?

  1. It is hard becoming a flight attendant these days. The airline industry is in BAD (and I mean bad) shape. They are not really hiring people, more like firing people, and I doubt that the problem will be fixed by the time you graduate. It's that bad. Consider another career.
  2. No college is required, you must like flying, have no problem being away from home 5 days a week and be over 18. They generally train you. It might be wise to take CPR training, learn first aide, take a course in sky diving and learn a little about fire contol and management.
  3. All you really need is to get your highschool diploma - that is the minimum requirement in terms of education. However, if you really want, take Geography or Travel & Tourism but its not needed. There are alot more requirements in becoming a Flight Attendant. You can also take up another language - its always an asset if your're bilingual, better yet, multilingual. If you're in the US, Spanish is an asset. If you're in Canada, French is. If you want to travel international, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean are in demand right now anywhere. Goodluck! =)
