Flight Attendant Information

Can I ask not to do something on religious grounds as a flight attendant?

I would like to be a flight attendant, but I do not believe in drinking or smoking, so is there anyway I can NOT serve them on religious grounds? If it depends on the airline could you please attach the website where you got your information. Lots of answers please!

  1. No
  2. The requirements for that job are to serve people what they want, such as alcohol or cigarettes, if you can't do that, then you technically aren't able to have that job since you can't meet the requirements needed. Sorry
  3. You wouldn't even be hired if you're going to pull stunts like that.
  4. "reasonable accomidation" should be made by employers to accomidate an employee's religion beliefs. In the US, the smoking thing would not be a problem - there is no smoking on US airlines (to the best of my knowledge). Serving drinks might be considered an essential part of you job however - not something that could be reasonable accomidated by the airline. You could not apply for the job of a bartender and not be expected to serve liquor for instance.
  5. No. It is part of your job description, which you were (or should have) been made aware of prior to being hired.
