So I was thinking rather than being a flight attendant I can be a rail attendant. Where do I find information?
Where can I find information on being a rail attendant? Also what other companies are there besides Amtrak? What kind of training? Anything else pertinant? Thanks.

- If you are wanting to work as an attendant on long-distance trains in the US the only company providing this service is Amtrak. If you would like to to this in Canada, you can check out VIA rail (the Canadian equivalent of Amtrak). There are some commuter railroads in the US but I don't know anything about them. Check out the Amtrak web site. At the bottom left side of the page there is a link for "employment." As for what you could do on Amtrak there is really no exact cognate to a flight attendant. You can be a coach or sleeper attendant which serves some of the same roles as a flight attendant but they are different. You could also serve as a lounge attendant (selling snacks and fast food-type meals) in the lounge car or serve as a dining car attendant serving sit down meals in the dining car (like a waiter in a restaurant).
- Well train attendant positions arent really big on the american railway system. now if you went with Deutsche Bahn (Germany) or SBB/Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (Switzerland), you probably have a better job outlook. but if you were to do anything like that here, I would be an amtrak acela engineer and drive the train.
