Flight Attendant Information

What college/school should i go to in order to become a flight attendant?

I always enjoyed traveling, so, why not be a flight attendant? Unfortunately I do not know of any colleges or schools to go to. Is there such a thing as flight attending as a major or minor? (That sounds kind of funny) I also wish to study nursing, any suggestions for that?

  1. I had a friend who was a flight attendant, and she dropped out of college. Unfortunately, as a young flight attendant you will only do local routes. You have to work your way up to more exciting routes.
  2. There is no college for flight attendants. Most flight attendants attend a six to seven week course in order to become certified in all areas that they need to know to fly. However, it is advisable to have some kind of college education and employment experience in customer service before considering a career as a flight attendant. It makes you, as the potential new employee, more marketable and more likely to get hired. In saying this though, I myself have been looking for an attendant job for months and have been told that no major airlines are hiring. So, good luck and keep at it!
  3. That's because the only thing required to become a flight attendant is your high school diploma or GED. Of course taking some college travel and world classes helps, as does having a background in promoting superior customer service. Good luck.
  4. here try this, my uncle is a pilot by the way its more training really you need to have graduated high school, but some may want a college degree, i don;t think you need more than high school though for most http://www.bestaviation.net/flight_attendant_school/ http://www.airlinecareer.com/ http://www.thetravelacademy.com/ http://airlineinflight.com/ http://www.ulinks.com/FlightAttendantSchools-FlightAttendantCareersTraining.htm
  5. um no (it sounds funny because there isnt all that much to learn to be a flight attendant and the stuff they DO need to learn are specific for each airline). they dont have a college program or even a class for flight attendants. the training is only a few weeks i think and offered through the airline. employment is competitive. and i dont really get the correlation between nursing and being a flight attendant...you cant do both. being a nurse takes 60+ hours a week if you work at a hospital devoted to work, and you certainly wont get time off from any hospital to fly around 4 days out of the week. nursing is also a tough degree to earn; you pretty much have to devote yourself to studying if you want to get into a good program- they are extremely competitive nowadays.
