Flight Attendant Information

Are there flight schools that give the handicap the opputurity to earn a pilot's licence?

My boy can only see out of his left eye due to an injury when he was young and has always wanted to fly a helicopter and he has looked at trainng wesites and he has emailed and called aviation schools and has never got a real answer about it from anyone. Is there any way this can be possible?

  1. I don't think so. The requirements to fly a plain are very strict. People with high blood pressure can't fly those taking meds for ADHD can't fly. Sorry.
  2. There ain't any for planes.
  3. this is the only one i found out of hundreds
  4. Unfortunately, there is little chance of this. Pilots are required to have near perfect vision with little correction. The fact that he can't see out of one eye at all limits his field of vision too severely for him to fly.
  5. If he wants to just get his private pilot rating, it may be a possibility. I do know of one person that flys at my local airport that only has one eye (the other is glass) I would suggest that you get in contact with the local flight school and sit down with an instructor and have the contact the FAA for you to see if this is something that can be accomplished. He may be able to pass his medical with restrictions (which is common). I have worked in aviation for many years, so don't hesitate to email me if you have anymore questions.
