I am going to the airline academy in daytona beach, is it a good assistant for flight attendant?
I'm going to school in jan, and i was wondering if anyone has been there and has been offered a position as a flight attendant? I do not want negative feedback. Thank you!

- I haven't known anyone to go there. But, I am sure that any kind of experience and knowledge is helpful for getting a job. Hopefully airlines will be hiring and not laying off employees when you get done.
- I hate to say it, but you are wasting your money. Airlines have their own training programs that they put you through (and you are required to do so whether or not you have any experience. Every airline has different aircrafts, and different configurations, use different computer systems, etc). You would be better off to get a job with some customer service experience. Airlines are currently furloughing (laying off) their flight attendants. Before they can hire again, they have to call back all the furloughed f/a's first. It may be a couple of years before many of the airlines are looking for f/a's again. In that time, gain experience through other customer service jobs, and keep your eyes open for f/a jobs. When I went through f/a training, out of 45 people, only 5 had worked for other airlines. Everyone else had NO airline experience at all. What you DO need to get hired is an outgoing personality, easily able to get along with people from all walks of life, be timely/responsible/flexible, height/weight proportionate, well groomed, customer service skills, read/write/speak english clearly, second languages may help you (though are not required at most airlines), etc. I don't mean any of this to be negative feedback, it's just honest feedback from someone already in the industry! I wish you the best of luck and hope an opportunity arises for you soon. The only airline I know of that may be currently hiring would be Virgin America. If you are willing to relocate to San Fran (or attempt to commute), then check it out...and get right to it!
