Do I phone the airline and get an application to become a flight attendant.?

I am wanting to become a flight attendant, do I phone the airlines and get an application. Where do I get there phone numbers Thanks

1. Nobody does paper applications, they dont want to hear from you, and they will only direct you to there websites. Flight attendant though? You know how many are temporarily laid off because of the economy!? They have to get them back to work before they can even consider new hires.
