Interested in Flight Attendant career. How do I become one? Where do I train? How long is training? Cost?

I am interested in becoming a flight attendant. Anyone out there that is a flight attendant, or was one, can you tell me about the career? Advantages, disadvantages. How the work schedule works. Where is training or schooling to get hired? How long is training? what else should someone new going in know? Any tips? advice? Suggestions on great places to work, where to stay away from?
