What are the best flight schools ( Specific Question )?
Im a college student close to getting my AA degree and I was wondering what school you "guys" prefer to transfer to.... i still want to earn a BS degree so it has to be a school where i can earn a degree at, such as embry riddel... as you can see thats one of the best answers but i want to know what other schools are out there with lower prices since embry seems to be the most expensive ( 50k over the already 30k in college expenses ) . Any advice or info is great. Thanks

- check out WMU.. www.wmich.edu/aviation thats where i went.. theyve got a great program, the only part that sucks is the climate.. any university program that you choose is going to be expensive but i think WMU is a little cheaper than ER..
- "Flight school" or aviation university? A flight school does not have degree programs just flight training. An Av U. has flight training plus academics The "best" school or university for one person may not be the best for you. Schools such as ERAU can cost about $100,000. When you are done you still have to gain flight experience like others who went to cheaper universities to be able to land a job. You are going to have to visit some for yourself to really make an informed decision. Also, you DO NOT have to get a degree in aviation. You can if you like but it isn't necessary to get a job. That said, if you want an Av U., find AN affordable school that you will think you will like. There are many posts about uch schools on the forums at http://www.jetcareers.com Find a listing of Av U here- http://uaa.auburn.edu/institutional.pdf As far as additional info & advice, all you need to know cannot be covered via Answers. - Save your time, money and hassle. Get a BA in Physical Education, drink lots of beer, chase lots of skirts. Keep your GPA up though, just do it smartly... (wink, wink). Trust me, the Navy doesn't care what your degree is in. I have a BA in Marketing. They DON'T care. A college degree is your ticket to entry. THEN, once you've had your fun in college. Go to your local Navy Recruiter, take the test to become a Navy Pilot, apply for a pilot slot after you've scored well enough on the test, and then go to Navy Officer Candidate School for 90 days, and boom, you're getting paid to fly for the navy. Prepare to spend the next 5 years of your life having the most incredible time of your life. Just don't drink too much, and don't chase *too* many skirts while you're in flight school... to be fair, they will chase you in Pensacola though, so you don't really have to worry about that... but once you get through that- and your follow on advanced training- Meridian, MS, Corpus-Christie, TX (if you get jets), you're set brotha. Don't be a friggin' 'Flying School' weenie... do it for the honor of contributing the time to your country... and blowing up shit at the same time if you're lucky. Not to mention, the privilege of joining the coveted ranks of 'tailhook' aviators. THAT'S how you become a pilot my friend. Enjoy college, enjoy life, get paid to fly. Questions?
- You might check out LeTurnea University. They seem to have an excellent up to date fleet and a good degree program. I might go there myself.
