Delta Flight Attendant advice? I applied with Delta about a week ago online. They called me and asked some questions over the phone. The man on the line told me that I had done well and that he wanted me to complete the online assessment. I completed it about 2 or 3 days ago. Any idea when they call back or let you know if you got the face to face? Also is it bad to call and ask the statues of your application. Please give me all the advice that you can... I really want this!!! Thank you in advance!!!
working as a flight attendant- what kind of lifestyle do you live? I have just applied to work as a flight attendant for Delta, and now they are asking me to fly to Atlanta Georgia for an interview. Now, as much as I am looking forward to working for them, I am a bit concerned on how my life will change. How much time off will I get? Do I get to live a normal life, or will I be flying continuously? I just want to get an idea of what to expect. If anyone can give any suggestions, I would be really grateful.
Delta flight attendants huge question for you! or anyone who know about the job and benefits! thank you? Can a full time Delta flight attendant get tickets for another person and reserve the tickets for them in a different airline like American Airlines under their benefits as an employ, and have that person go to the airport and simply tell them that you have tickets under an employ's benefits and give the employ # to the front desk check in and actually be able to fly ? I have a friend of mine who did so and told me to just go and tell the airport that and that i should be ok and be let on the plane but im not so sure about this and something about it makes me feel like its not going to work and i really dont want to go to the airport for no reason tomorrow. If anyone can help i will really appreciate it! He did provide me with the flight # and departure information. But when i call American Airlines they tell me that flight number and that certain reservation is on HOLD and is reserved until around 30 minutes before the plain is supposed to departure. Thank you.
How much does being a flight attendant pay? When im older i wanna work for either Delta or Qantas as a flight attendant. How much do you get paid as a flight attendant.. ~btw~ DO i just need to finish high school or do i have to go to college as well to be a Flight Attendant? thank you
Are DELTA or Continental flight attendants more rude. Which flight attendants would you prefer.? I was on a Delta flight and I asked for CranApple juice and water and the flight attendant was SO RUDE, until I did not know how to respond. She refused to give me water with my juice. She pointed her finger and raised her voice, telling me that she would not give me water until I finished my juice. How juvenile was that? Continental flight attendants are very friendly and much more professional. I don't think that I will fly with DELTA again. DELTA HAS GONE TO THE DOGS! FLY CONTINENTAL---BETTER AIRCRAFTS TOO
A question about Delta Flight attendants? When accepted for employment are Delta Flight attendants assigned to fly EITHER domestic OR International routes? Or do they fly on both domestic and international routes? I have done their online and phone interviews and they are flying me to Atlanta for a face to face. I know I am too tall for some of their domestic aircraft and they have asked me to interview anyway - in spite of the fact I am 6'6" The only aircraft I could work on would be their 767s and 777s which are used for international routes. Dunno whether to bother goping to Atlanta if they screen me out and cut me because I am too tall - even though they said come to the interview anyway ... not sure if their recruiters are trained to ask questions about height.
Any suggestions on what other careers a 10 year flight attendant can go into? My friend has been a flight attendant for 10 years for Delta and to be honest, Delta is not as nice a company to work for (as a flight attendant anyway) since they have come out of bankruptcy ( they are the only non-union flight attendants in the industry). Are there any other careers that may be a good fit for her? She has an MBA in international business and speaks several languages.
what is it like to be a flight attendant? im dying to travel. my aunt has worked with delta for 26 years and suggested that i become a flight attendant. even tho they are firing a lot of people, to hire new ones they dont have to pay as much, i thought it might be fun to do for a few years? what all does it include tho? goofy outfits? do you actually get to travel. what would be the best air line to work for. is it dangerous? days off? schedules?
How much do flight attendants make ? I am thinking about being a flight attendant for Delta or American Airlines. I am soon going to graduate from high school and I need a job while I am in college. Please help. Thanks guys !
Flight attendant? I applied for a job with Delta as a Flight Attendant. I recieved a call back and completed the online assessment. I have not recieved the results. When will they let me know? Also, is it an issue for them if I am living in Italy right now because I am in the reserves? I already told them that I was willing to relocate. Thank you
How do I apply to be a flight attendant? I am interested in applying at American Airlines, or Delta Airlines. I have looked online but cannot seem to find where to go to apply. If anyone knows, and would be willing to help I would appriciate it a lot. Thank you in advance! Thanks Antonette, thats a great site!
I want to fly Delta AirLines to Orlando in November? My dad and I might go to Florida for vacation in November. I'm trying to get my father to book a couple flights on Delta. I've heard good things about them, and I heard they have wonderfull costumer service. Have you ever flwon Delta before? Have you ever been bumpd off a Delta flight? How would you rate their customer service? What food/drink did they serve on the plane, and did you have to pay for food on the plane? How were the flight-attendants? And where did you fly to and from on Delta?
Do you think I would be a good flight attendant? Well I'm courteous, polite most people call me sophisticated. I'm very well mannered. And I know how to respect people. But I'm only in 8th grade and I was wonndering because that's what I want to be later on. And I would love to work for Delta!!
Does Delta Airlines Give a Speech? Ok. Delta has this safety video and stuff, and I really want to work as a flight attendant for them and one of my highest skills is that I can do the speech really well. I was wondering, with the videos, do the flight attendants even say anything anymore onboard Delta flights? Thanks.
How can I get a flight attendant job? once I turn 18 in january i would like to apply for a flight attendant job out of ATL or ABQ. Airlines i am interested in working with are continental, delta or us airways. All airlines require you to be 18 or have a GED but i will be getting my high school diploma june of 2010. questions i need answered: 1) will they hire and train me at age 18 2) all of the specific pages say they are not hiring online. however, they fail to mention if they are hiring at all, because my father is the international manager of the air france, klm, delta skyteam, and im sure he would have an "in" somewhere, although i would like to do this by myself. 3) arent they always looking for people for in flight crew? i find it very hard to believe that not one airline that services both atl and abq arent hiring, especially this coming recruiting season, january 2010. 4) are day camp counselor, gymnastics coach, and waiter good previous experience for work, when applying for this kind of a "peoples" job? 5) arent they looking for younger, taller people? not to mention i am 17 and already have over 300 flights under my belt, there fore am a very experienced flyer. please let me know. thanks

What determines if an airport is considered Regional or International? I am a Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines and recently worked on a GPT (Gulf-port/Biloxi MS) to ATL (Atlanta GA) flight and noticed that they were calling GPT an international airport when in fact it doesn't have any scheduled airline service to an international city outside of the US. They also consider PFN (Panama City FL) an international airport. Pensacola has a way bigger airport big enough to use 757's and we call it a regional airport. Whats up with that?
flight attendant relocation? Does anyone know if my f2f interview is in Atlanta,GA for delta airlines means that I will be based there or will I be based in a different city?
Any flight attendants? Can you answer my question please? Hi I have been screened by phone by Delta and they have asked me to fly to Atlanta for a face to face interview. I have a couple of questions: Will I have to share a room at the hotel with another candidate? If I become a flight attendant will I have to share hotel rooms with other cabin crew members or are you allocated your own hotel roo, when away from home base?
international flight attendant? to be one for an american airline like united, delta, or american.. do you need to know a second language to get those international flights? or do they just base that on seniority

Questions about flight attendant? Could somebody help me with this? I am a potential new hire at Delta. I need to commute to my base. 1) I understood from crew4jet that some airlines have a limited number of free passes per year. Does this apply to Delta also? I certainly cannot afford to pay anything extra having to take a flight to work :( 2) Will I be on standby only on all these free-pass-based flights? This would be so uncertain , even though I am going to work and don't want to be late or miss a plane! 3) I am a language speaker. I understand for any new hire, one needs to be on reserve, on-call. But being a language-of-destination FA, will I have the advantage of getting the particular int'l line? Certainly they won't want to "waste" me - my language of destination skill is the very reason they hired me.... Can anybody please help me with my doubts and and confusion? Thanks .
Did the young Mother rightfully get kick of a commercial flight for nursing her baby? Gillette, said her troubles began when she and her husband and their almost 2-year-old daughter River were traveling from Vermont to New York. Their flight was delayed three hourst (booked through Delta Air Lines) The family headed to their seats at the back of the little plane. Mother and daughter took the window seat in the second to last row; River’s dad took the aisle seat. As the plane was getting ready to move, Gillette tucked in next to the window and began to discreetly nurse River. That’s when Gillette noticed the lone flight attendant holding out a blanket, telling Gillette that she needed to cover up.,” she says. “I was being as discreet as possible.” When Gillette refused, Gillette says the flight attendant responded; “You are offending me. You need to cover up.” Gillette refused again. Gillette says the flight attendant huffed off, and returned with a ticket agent, who told the family that they were being thrown off the plane. One of the copilots followed them out and apologetically explained that he could not overrule the flight attendant’s decision. “He said, ‘I’m sorry. I have two children and my wife stopped breastfeeding at 6 months and breastfeeding a 2 year old is very inappropriate and there’s nothing I can do about this…The same way that I have control over the cockpit, she has control over the passenger area.’” And the flight left for New York without the Gillette's
Any flight attendants out there? I have a question about an upcoming interview ...? I have been screened online vis tests etc and undergone tqo telephone interviews for Delta - for a position as a flight attendant I am being flown to Atlanta next week for a face to face. Anyone who is a flight attendant: can you give me an idea of what to expect on the day and what kind of questions may be asked. I understand there are group interviews and activities that are observed by recruiters etc Any info? Tips? Advice? inside info? Is it true you have to smile constantly?? I don't want to come over as fake ... but I am practising a 24/7 smile as I type this thanks in advance!
What is wrong with Northwest Airlines? It seems as if their aircraft seems to mess up. On our way to Dulles, the steering got stuck (during the pre-flight check) and we ended up on Delta (thank goodness--much better service). On the way back from Dulles, we were stuck with Northwest. Everyone was on board and the electricity kept cutting out and they couldn't start the jet engines, so we had to disembark and get on an alternate plane. Could this be fallout from the mechanics' strike a year ago? Also, the Northwest flight attendants acted like they had chips on their shoulders. We are flying Delta or United from now on, no matter how expensive it is.
Real flight announcements? Occasionally, airline attendants make an effort to make the "in-flight safety lecture" and their other announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported: "There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane..." Pilot - "Folks, we have reached our cruising altitude now, so I am going to switch the seat belt sign off. Feel free to move about as you wish, but please stay inside the plane till we land ... it's a bit cold outside, and if you walk on the wings it affects the flight pattern." And, after landing: "Thank you for flying Delta Business Express. We hope you enjoyed giving us the business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride." As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Washington National, a lone voice comes over the loudspeaker: "Whoa, big fella. WHOA!" After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in Memphis, a flight attendant on a Northwest flight announced: "Please take care when opening the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as Hell everything has shifted." From a Southwest Airlines employee.... "Welcome aboard Southwest Flight XXX to YYY. To operate your seatbelt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seatbelt, and if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised. In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with two small children, decide now which one you love more. Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some broken clouds, but they'll try to have them fixed before we arrive. Thank you, and remember, nobody loves you, or your money, more than Southwest Airlines." "As you exit the plane, please make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses." "Last one off the plane must clean it." And from the pilot during his welcome message: "We are pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the industry ...Unfortunately none of them are on this flight...! Heard on Southwest Airlines just after a very hard landing in Salt Lake City: The flight attendant came on the intercom and said, "That was quite a bump and I know what ya'll are thinking. I'm here to tell you it wasn't the airline's fault, it wasn't the pilot's fault, it wasn't the flight attendants' fault.....it was the asphalt!" Another flight Attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing: "We ask you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us to the terminal." After a real crusher of a landing in Phoenix, the Flight Attendant came on with, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain in your seats until Captain Crash and the Crew have brought the aircraft to a screeching halt up against the gate. And, once the tire smoke has cleared and the warning bells are silenced, we'll open the door and you can pick your way through the wreckage to the terminal. Part of a Flight Attendant's arrival announcement: "We'd like to thank you folks for flying with us today. And, the next time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the skies in a pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of us here at US Airways."
